JAMB Go Review 2025 UTME Result On Thursday As People Dey Complain

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) don talk say dem go review the result of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday because of wetin dem call “plenty unusual” public complaints.

Wetin The PUNCH see for Abuja show say the review meeting go carry come together people like vice-chancellors, provosts, rectors, school principals, examiners, and technical experts to check how the exam take go and solve all the wahala wey candidates and stakeholders don dey talk about.

This one dey happen after candidates and their parents begin protest say the result wey dem release last Friday get technical problem and plenty wahala.

According to the official notice, the review panel go include members from All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, Educational Assessment and Research Network, and top people from universities and other higher institutions for Nigeria.

Dem talk say, “As JAMB dey try build public trust, the board management don approve make una join the review panel to check how the exam take go, find any problem, and bring better advice to stop this kain thing from happening again.”

Dem add say the panel no go collect money for this assignment.

UTME na serious exam wey person must pass to enter university or any other tertiary institution for Nigeria. Candidates dey write four subjects, and Use of English na compulsory. The other three subjects na from the candidate course of choice.

Out of the 1.9 million candidates wey write the exam, more than 1.5 million score below 200 out of 400, and this one don make people for education sector dey worried.

JAMB talk say out of the 1,955,069 results wey dem process:

  • Only 4,756 candidates (0.24%) score 320 and above
  • 7,658 candidates (0.39%) score between 300–319
  • So total of 12,414 (0.63%) score 300 and above

Also:

  • 73,441 (3.76%) score between 250–299
  • 334,560 (17.11%) score between 200–249
  • 983,187 (50.29%) score between 160–199 – dis one na the common cut-off mark for many schools
  • 488,197 (24.97%) score between 140–159
  • 57,419 (2.94%) score between 120–139
  • 3,820 (0.20%) score between 100–119
  • 2,031 (0.10%) score below 100

So overall, more than 75% of candidates score below 200 for exam wey total mark na 400.

Some candidates wey affected even threaten say dem go carry JAMB go court.

As people dey shout, JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, talk on Monday say dem don fast-track their usual post-exam review wey dey always happen months after exam.

“We really dey worried about the kind complaints wey dey come from some parts of the country,” Fabian talk.

He say JAMB dey seriously look into the complaints to see whether any technical error happen.

According to am, the review dey focus on three main parts: registration, exam itself, and release of result.

Dem also explain say during the exam, JAMB dey make sure say every candidate write their exam, and if any wahala happen, dem go reschedule am for the person.
