Police for Thursday don carry controversial social media influencer wey dem dey call Martins Otse, wey everybody sabi as VeryDarkMan (VDM), go Federal High Court for Abuja again. Dem accuse am say im dey cyberbully Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh.
Dem also talk say the activist still cyberbully one Nigerian producer and singer, Samuel Oguachuba, wey people sabi as Samklef, plus others join.
VDM appear for Justice Musa Liman court on top five-count charge, and im talk say im no do wetin dem accuse am of.
Make una remember say dem first carry VDM go court on May 22, 2024, before Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon for the same matter. The offence na against Section 24 of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, and e carry punishment.
That time, court hold am for custody but later grant am bail of ₦10 million on June 10, 2024. The bail condition na say e go bring two sureties wey be senior civil servants (Level 17) or work for better company and show tax papers for three years.
The charge get number FHC/ABJ/CR/140/2024 and dem file am on March 28, 2024. Dem come move the case go Justice Liman side after Justice Olajuwon waka go another division.
For the first charge, dem talk say VDM post one video for him Instagram (@verydarkblackman) on or around October 13, 2023, wey threaten and bully Samuel Oguachuba.
For the second one, dem say on or around October 29, 2023, VDM post another video wey contain offensive and obscene talk against Iyabo Ojo. For that video, he talk say “one Iyabo Ojo dey do dirty sexual something with her pikin.”
For the third count, dem accuse am say on January 19, 2024, e publish lie say “King Tonto Dikeh dey use the money wey dem raise for Justice for Mobbad Movement and na she dey run the Gistlover blog.”
The fourth count talk say on March 19, 2024, he post video insult and yab Deputy Inspectors General of Police and lawmakers for National Assembly.
After dem re-arraign am before Justice Liman, VDM lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, beg make dem still allow am enjoy the bail wey Justice Olajuwon give am before. The police lawyer, Victor Okoye, no get wahala with the request.
Justice Liman come agree make the bail continue and adjourn the matter go July 24, 2025, for trial.
