One upper Shariah court for Kano don sentence Shafiu Abubakar to death by hanging, say na him set fire wey burn worshippers for one mosque wey dey Gadan Village inside Gezawa local government area of Kano State.
Di incident happen when Muslim faithfuls dey do early morning prayer on May 15, 2024.

Dem carry Abubakar go court on Monday, May 26, and di judge wey hear di matter – Halhatu Huza’i Zakariya – find am guilty for di four charges wey dem carry against am.
Di charges na: say im kill person (culpable homicide), try kill person (attempt to commit homicide), cause serious injury, and burn property (mischief by fire), all dis one na against section 143, 148 and 370 of Shari’a legal code of Kano State 2000.
Di judge sentence am to death by hanging for murder, and give am 100 strokes of cane for attempted murder.
Dem still order am to pay N1,500 for di serious injury wey im cause, and give am 50 strokes of cane again for di fire wey im set.
Court still talk say im motorcycle go go to Kano State government, and dem go use di money wey dem sell am take repair di mosque wey burn.
