Police operatives from Rapid Response Squad for Anambra don arrest two suspected kidnappers wey dey disguise like people wey dey sell land (realtors) for early morning of June 25, 2025.
According to the police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects dey involved for one case of kidnapping, armed robbery, and attempted murder, wey happen for Umudioka area inside Dunukofia Local Government. The victim manage escape from their hideout.
Ikenga talk say the two suspects — Onele Solomon a.k.a Federal and Simeon Chidera a.k.a Chaplet, both 23 years old — dey among group wey use land selling as format to lure people before dem kidnap them. Other members of the gang still dey on the run.
He explain say on May 31, 2025, the two suspects kidnap one victim, collect all him personal belongings, and machete am badly wey almost take him life. Dem lock the victim for one of their hideouts and begin demand ransom from him family and friends. But luckily, the victim manage escape and police don question am well.
Police say dem don activate full hunt for the remaining gang members, based on wetin the two suspects wey dem catch don confess. Dem also dey work to scatter the whole criminal network for the area.
