Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, wey run as Peter Obi deputy for the 2023 presidential election, don talk say Obi deserve to be presidential candidate for the new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, no be to play second fiddle as Vice President.
As he yarn for Arise TV Prime Time on Thursday night, July 3, Baba-Ahmed say Obi perform well for the last election and overqualify to dey play deputy for 2027.
In him words:
“VP position big, yes. Me sef wan be VP before, dem rig me out. But I believe say Peter Obi no suppose settle for VP after he gather almost 10 million votes, even though dem dispute am.”
He talk say the people wey dey eye the coalition presidential ticket na Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi, but still insist say Obi no suppose play second to anybody.
Baba-Ahmed also no agree with the idea say only political coalition fit defeat Tinubu and the APC. He point to the 2023 election as example say Labour Party do well without any coalition.
He talk say:
“Dem just sell one narrative give Nigerians say na coalition go beat Tinubu. E good to join hands, but for 2023, Labour Party beat APC and PDP without coalition.”
He come hammer say the real coalition Nigeria need no be among big politicians, but na for ballot box.
“The true coalition na for votes to join body for ballot box. Make dem protect the votes from beginning till result announcement.”
