One truck wey lose control don jam some students from Seico Secondary School, Ikangba, Ijebu Ode, and one girl wey dey write WASSCE na im kpai for the wahala.
Di accident happen for the Ikangba/Agoro road wey dem just repair, on Friday, May 23, 2025, as the students dey go house after dem finish their exam.
Chairman for Ogun State branch of Campaign for Democratic and Workers Rights, Mr Eko Nicholas, talk say another student still dey critical condition.
“Nobody sabi wetin make the truck wey dey come from Molipa side just swerve enter the lane wey students dey waka and jam dem. The truck even go crash enter fence of one Redeemed church wey dey beside the road,” na wetin he talk.
He still talk say, “The students na clearly those wey dey write WASSCE because dem dey hold their question paper. One girl die for the spot, and another girl still dey fight for her life. We dey pray make she survive.”
Nicholas vex say accident for the road don dey plenty since dem fix the road.
Di human rights activist blame government say dem no put speed bump or road barrier wey go fit stop all these careless drivers wey dey speed anyhow for the road.
“This one na another death wey no suppose happen for the Ikangba/Agoro road. From February till now, six people don die for this road, and many don wound join,” he add.
“We dey beg government again make dem put speed bump and street light for the road to stop all these kain deaths wey pain person.”
“CDWR don talk this thing before, but government never answer. Make dem quick do something before another pikin die again. Plenty schools dey this road and many children dey waka go and come school every day.”
The PRO of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, don confirm say the accident really happen.
“TRACE officers wey dey that side don confirm say one school pikin don die for the accident,” na wetin he yarn.
