Dem talk say the people wey dem arrest na part of one big group of over 100 people wey sabi how to break into national exam bodies like JAMB and NECO server. Security sources talk say the suspects confess say dem spoil the UTME on purpose so that people go begin doubt the CBT system and no go want make NECO and WAEC use am again.
Investigation still show say the suspects dey collect between ₦700,000 and ₦2 million to help special candidates get higher scores. Dem dey use private schools and colleges as base to do the illegal work.
This year own UTME wey start for April don already get wahala before these arrests. Plenty candidates complain say the centres wey dem post dem go far, and e make am hard or even impossible for some to write the exam.
When result come out on May 9, over 78 percent of candidates score below 200 out of 400, and e cause plenty people to suspect say something no dey right. On May 14, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, talk say one technical wahala affect results for 157 centres. E talk say 379,997 candidates dey among those wey suffer am because the server update for Lagos and south-east no allow system upload candidates answers for the first three days of exam.
JAMB don do another exam (re-sit) for the people wey the wahala affect.
