Wahala burst for Rano Local Government Area of Kano State on Monday, May 26, after one young man wey dem call Abdullahi Musa reportedly d!e for police custody.
Di incident vex people for the area and cause protest wey later lead to the burning of Rano Divisional Police Headquarters.
People for the area talk say police arrest Musa because of traffic wahala, but he later d!e during interrogation.
Eyewitnesses talk say the DPO of Rano, wey dem identify as Baba Ali, beat Musa seriously, and na that beating kill am.
“One young man na him the DPO beat anyhow. Later we hear say he don d!e for their hand. Na that one make people vex go protest,” one resident wey give him name as Muhammad talk.
The d3ath of Musa provoke many youths for the area. Dem go the police station go find justice. But as police begin shoot to scatter the crowd, two people – Hassan Salisu Hassan and Muhammad Ibrahim – wound for the process. Dem rush the two of them go Rano General Hospital where dem dey receive treatment.
As payback, the angry youths begin stone police officers and later burn down the station.
Reports talk say even the DPO, Baba Ali, wound seriously for the clash and him too dey receive treatment.
Kano State Police Command don confirm say the incident happen.
The command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, promise say dem go do full investigation on the matter.
Kiyawa write for him official Facebook page say: “Incident in Rano — thorough investigation will be conducted by the Grace of God.”
