Ireland don deport 35 Nigerian people wey no follow immigration law, na wetin Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) talk for one statement wey dem release.
Di deportation happen with one special flight wey commot from Dublin Airport for night of June 4, 2025. Among di people wey dem deport, five na pikin and nine na women. Authorities talk say di pikin dem dey with their family.
GNIB talk say, “Na di third time wey we dey use charter flight this year. All di people wey dem deport enter Nigeria safely this morning.”
Na since February 2025 Ireland start to dey use charter flight deport people, and this one na di first time dem dey carry people go Africa this year.
Ireland Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, talk say dem dey serious about immigration law wey get rules, and deportation dey important to make sure everything dey work well.
“Ireland get immigration system wey base on rules. E important make dem rules strong and make everybody obey am,” O’Callaghan talk. “If person apply for asylum or papers and dem reject am, and dem give deportation order, na normal say di person suppose go back.”
E still add say even though Ireland dey welcome people wey come legally, anybody wey dem don reject and no get any other legal option again suppose go back.
“Anybody wey wan come Ireland suppose follow correct legal way… If dem reject your application for protection and tell you make you leave di country, you suppose do am,” he add.
O’Callaghan also talk say di charter flight get small wahala for road because of medical emergency, but e later continue di journey without any other problem.
Di Irish government still talk say all these deportation operations dey help stop illegal stay and show say dem serious about fair and regulated immigration system.
