The medical doctor wey dem kidnap for Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State still dey captivity for 33 days now despite reports say the kidnappers don collect N20 million ransom.
Dr Tony Eghagagara, wey be Head of Medical Services for New Bussa General Hospital, Borgu, suspected bandits kidnap am on April 22, 2026, for him private clinic wey dey outskirts of Wawa town.
Sources close to the family tell Daily Trust say immediately after the kidnappers collect the ransom money, dem stop to communicate with family members and colleagues.
One reliable source still talk say the kidnappers allegedly dey force the doctor to treat injured members of the terrorist group.
The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (MAGGMDP) on Tuesday call on Niger State Government and security agencies to increase efforts to secure the doctor release.
For statement wey dem release after emergency meeting, wey association chairman, Dr Mustapha Mohammed Aliyu, and General Secretary, Dr Musa Alhaji Shehu sign together, the group show concern over how long their colleague don stay captivity.
“Thirty-three days for captivity and our member never regain freedom. Government never give enough support to the family of our member wey dey captivity,” the association talk.
