JAMB Don Finally Admit Say Dem Make Mistake for 2025 UTME Wey Affect Students Performance
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) don finally gree say dem make some errors wey affect how students perform for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, talk this one during press briefing wey happen for Abuja on Wednesday.
“Wetin suppose be moment of joy don change because of one or two mistakes,” na so Oloyede talk.
UTME na one very important exam wey every student for Naija must write before dem go fit enter university or any other higher institution. The exam dey test four subjects – one na Use of English (wey compulsory), and three others from the course wey the person wan study.
Na Only Small People Score High
Out of 1.9 million candidates wey write this 2025 UTME, more than 1.5 million people score below 200 out of 400, and this one don raise big wahala for Nigeria education sector.
According to wetin JAMB talk:
- 1,955,069 results dem process
- Only 4,756 candidates (na just 0.24%) score 320 and above
- 7,658 people score between 300 and 319
- That mean say na only 12,414 candidates (just 0.63%) score 300 and above
E still continue:
- 73,441 candidates (3.76%) score 250 – 299
- 334,560 candidates (17.11%) score 200 – 249
- 983,187 candidates (50.29%) score 160 – 199 – this one na the minimum many schools dey use
Then:
- 488,197 people (24.97%) score 140 – 159
- 57,419 (2.94%) score 120 – 139
- 3,820 (0.20%) score 100 – 119
- 2,031 people (0.10%) even score below 100
So overall, over 75% of the people wey write the exam no reach 200 score, even though the exam na 400 marks total.

Because of all these katakata, some candidates don talk say dem go carry JAMB go court. Dem talk say the exam no pure at all this year.
