A High Court in Sokoto State has sentenced three men, including a foreign national from Niger, to death by hanging after finding them guilty of terrorism-related offences and illegal arms trafficking. The judgment was delivered by Justice Muhammad Nuraddeen Bello of High Court No. 23 in Sokoto.
The convicted men were identified as Yusuf Muhammad (also known as Sallau), Jabbi Alhaji Yalle, and Kabiru Muhammad. According to court records, they were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) Counter-Terrorism Unit on June 13, 2025, over alleged involvement in cross-border criminal activities linked to terrorism and the proliferation of illegal weapons.
After reviewing the evidence, the court found all three defendants guilty of the charges brought against them. In addition to the death sentence, the court ordered that money and other exhibits recovered from the convicts be forfeited to the Federal Government.
