After the POS operator reportedly confirmed the double withdrawal, the boy’s stepfather confronted him over the missing money.

Witnesses alleged that the teenager was subjected to severe punishment by his mother and stepfather. Neighbours reportedly heard the boy crying and attempted to intervene. One resident was said to have sought the assistance of a local Islamic cleric, who advised the couple to stop the punishment, but the warnings were allegedly ignored.

The following morning, Sadiq was found dead. Police officers from the Kurmin-Mashi Division responded to the incident and transferred the boy’s body to a hospital for examination to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, the mother and stepfather were taken into custody as investigations continue.
