Back in January, dem first notice the boy when he draw map of the school wey he dey attend, wey dem label “suicide route,” and the school name dey near rifle drawing, according to the affidavit.
Dem say the boy – dem no mention him name – tell officials say he get “fascination with past mass shooters.”
In April, the boy even use school computer go dey research the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooting wey happen for New Zealand, wey kill 51 people.
Later that day after he chop suspension, the boy try take him life with straight razor – the injury serious, and e need over 100 stitches.
He come dey go alternative school till May 7.
Na on Monday, May 12, him grandma wey he dey stay with from time to time call police when she catch am dey knock live bullet with hammer.
The boy tell him grandma say na him mama, Pardo, give am the bullet, and say she get guns and more bullets for her house.
The grandma tell police say Pardo dey carry the boy go one surplus store where she buy am magazines, black tactical vest wey fit hold bulletproof plates, black tactical helmet, and army clothes.
That same Monday, the boy tell him grandma say he “go soon become famous” before Pardo carry am go school.
When the grandma search the boy room, she find rifle and pistol magazines wey get live bullets inside, and one “improvised explosive device” (homemade bomb) wey get writing like “For Brenton Tarrant” (na the guy wey do the 2019 mosque shooting), with “SS” symbols and “14 words” wey dey point to white supremacy.
She still find handwritten note wey mention past mass shootings, suspects, and how many people each one kill.
Police talk say Pardo know about her son threats, and even support him violent drawings and expressions. She no show concern at all. She even dey buy the gear and bullets for am in exchange make he help babysit him younger siblings.
The school report say on Monday, the boy show for school wear camouflage jacket, mask, and tactical trousers, but he comot shortly after.
For letter wey Rhodes Middle School Principal, Felismina Martinez, send to parents, she talk say the boy don dey in custody and dem don charge am with terrorism.
She add say: “Make una know say we dey take all threats serious and we dey act fast to protect everybody. We go always remain sharp to make sure school dey safe.”
As at Tuesday, May 13, Pardo don get bail of $75,000. She go return to court for pre-indictment hearing on July 17.
