37 traders don die for boat accident wey happen for Gbajibo-Mudi community inside Kaiama Local Government Area for Kwara State.
Di accident happen on Thursday, just less than seven months after another boat mishap wey kill over 200 people for di same community.
Di traders bin go weekly market and na as dem dey return back to dia houses for Niger State for evening time na im di accident happen.
Some people wey sabi wetin happen talk say di boat wey suppose carry only about 100 people, carry pass di number wey e fit carry, and di river bin don full well well, wey make di accident worse.
Di Chairman of Kaiama Local Government, Abubakar Abdullahi, and di Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Omar, don waka go di community to show dem support and sympathize with dem.
One former chairman of di local government, Mahmoud Gbajibo, confirm di matter give Punch for phone on Saturday, May 17. He talk say dem don recover 37 dead bodies from di river through di rescue team wey di community gather.
He talk say, “Di boat accident happen around 6pm on Thursday. Di traders don close from Gbajigbo Mudi market and dem dey go back to dia various villages for Niger state when di sad thing happen.”
“37 dead bodies don come out from di river and many other people wey dey inside di boat na im dem rescue.”
“Na overloading cause di accident and di river water too full join.”
“As I dey talk now, di chairman of di local government and di Emir of Kaiama dey Gbajigbo Mudi community to show support to di people.”
