Govnor Umo Eno wey dey rule Akwa Ibom State don officially waka comot from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) enter All Progressives Congress (APC), wey be the party wey dey control power for Nigeria.
He make this announcement on Friday, June 6, for Government House wey dey Uyo.
Umo Eno talk say e take three months of serious consultation with people wey matter for the state before he reach the decision.
He thank PDP for all the support dem give am since e start to dey rule, but talk say the time don reach to make “progressive move.”
“After I don finish all my waka and talk with una as the person wey una vote for to serve, I don decide say na APC I go move enter,” na wetin he talk.
“We dey join APC today for the sake of Akwa Ibom and because we get plenty respect for President Tinubu and we wan support Senate President Godswill Akpabio well-well.
“We no dey join APC because we weak, but because we strong and dey alive. Na to align our state with the center be the koko,” Umo Eno add.
He still promise say e go continue to serve everybody for Akwa Ibom, no matter the party wey dem belong to.
Plenty APC governors show face for the defection event — people like Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo (wey be chairman of Progressives Governors Forum), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo) all dey there.
