One 25-year-old Nigerian woman wey her name na Ifeoluwa Akinwunmi don land for big wahala as Indian police arrest her say she carry drugs.
The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch for India arrest am last Tuesday, June 10, for one area called Tarahunase village, Rajanukunte Main Road, for Bengaluru.
Dem catch her with 5.325 kilograms of MDMA crystals – wey dem talk say e worth about 10 crore rupees (na over N1.8 billion for Nigerian money).
Akinwunmi talk say she be hair stylist and nail artist and say she waka go India to open beauty salon. But police no believe that one.
Na tip-off make police track her when she dey come from Delhi with one bag wey dem suspect. When dem open am, dem see the drugs and 11 brand new churidars (na traditional Indian clothes).
One police officer talk say:
“She be courier. Na to give the drugs to some African guys wey she come. We even see four men for scooter near the area, but dem no collect the parcel. We come arrest her with the bag as she just dey stand there.”
During questioning, the woman — wey people sabi as Princess — say she no know wetin dey inside the bag. She talk say one friend from Delhi tell her to give the bag to one man wey go wear black cap.
She talk further say she wan open salon for Bengaluru and say her papa be Nigerian civil servant. But she no gree give more info about her background.
Report from The New Indian Express still talk say she first enter India for October 2021 with business visa, then later switch to student visa to study for one university for Telangana. But she no go school and don dey overstay since her visa expire for 2022.
Police also talk say dem get clue about her boyfriend wey dey Delhi, but the guy don run. Dem go still carry her go court as dem continue their investigation.
For now, dem don hand her over to Chikkajala Police Station make dem continue the matter.
