Catholic priest, Fr Kelvin Ugwu, don use social media knock him fellow priest and current Benue State Governor, Fr Hyacinth Alia, say he no gree make Peter Obi visit IDP camps for the state back in April, but now dey fold hand dey wait make Federal Government come help am stop killings for the state.
For April 2025, Peter Obi plan visit some internally displaced people (IDPs) camps for Benue, but security agents no gree make him enter the state. Governor Alia later talk for one interview with TVC say Obi no follow proper protocol and say dem no know wetin be him "real intention" for the visit.
But now, after fresh attacks wey kill over 100 people for Yelwata in Guma LGA, Fr Kelvin Ugwu don fire back say the governor need to stop hiding behind excuse say he no get control over security.
Fr Ugwu talk say:
“Was it the Federal Government wey tell you say Peter Obi dey come your state? Na dem advise you make you stop am? But now when killings dey happen, you say na only FG fit help.”
He come blast the idea say only Abuja get power to handle security. He say as governor, Alia suppose take bold action, especially since the killings dey affect innocent people wey already lose their homes.
Fr Ugwu also react to one viral video where cows dey get police escort for Benue. He come ask:
“So na cow dem fit protect with full security, but na human beings una go abandon dey wait FG to act?”
He advise the governor to face the insecurity matter squarely and stop playing politics with people’s lives.
