Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 election, Peter Obi don talk say if e become president, im go make sure say office of the Vice President no go just dey for decoration, but go dey fully involved for government work.
Obi tok dis one on Saturday as e accept im confirmation as the party presidential candidate and officially announce Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as im running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
For a post wey e share for X, Obi promise say im government go uphold rule of law, strengthen democratic institutions and make governance more transparent if Nigerians elect am as president.
According to am, everybody, including government officials and ordinary citizens, must obey the law according to the Constitution.
“The rule of law go dey strongly protected, and everybody must follow am, whether na government official or citizen, in line with our constitutional provisions,” Obi talk.
Obi also promise to build a democratic system wey go respect opposition parties and encourage everybody to participate for governance.
“Our democracy go truly be government of the people, by the people and for the people, without interference from the ruling party. Instead, we go respect opposition parties and encourage constructive participation for governance,” he talk.
“Under my leadership, democracy go run with integrity, fairness and transparency.”
Talking about the role of im running mate, Obi say the Vice President go play important role for government.
“I go make democracy work, and the Vice President go be partner, no be spare tyre,” Obi talk as e announce Kwankwaso as im running mate.
Obi express confidence say the partnership with Kwankwaso go help achieve im vision for national renewal, better governance and economic transformation.
