A court in the UK has sentenced 36-year-old Asad Hussain to eight years in prison after he carried out a disturbing stalking campaign against his former girlfriend by creating a fake Tinder profile in her name and directing strangers to her home.
According to prosecutors, the victim ended their brief relationship in 2024 after discovering Hussain had secretly searched through her phone. After the breakup, he repeatedly tried to reconnect, but she refused.
Investigators said Hussain then created a fake Tinder account using the woman’s identity. Through the profile, he invited men to her home and falsely claimed she wanted to take part in violent sexual role-play. The messages allegedly instructed some of the men to ignore any resistance, claiming that if she said “no,” she actually “wanted it more.”
The harassment escalated over several weeks. At least 18 men are believed to have visited the woman’s house after communicating with the fake profile. On one occasion, four different men arrived on the same night. Another man forced the front door open after being told it was “stiff,” while a separate individual entered the property when the victim’s teenage daughter was home alone. Fortunately, no sexual assault occurred.
Police described the investigation as one of the most technically complex and disturbing cases they had handled. Hussain was convicted of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, assault by beating, and related offences. Alongside his prison sentence, the court imposed a 15-year restraining order to protect the victim.
In her victim impact statement, the woman said the sentence offered some peace but could not erase the trauma suffered by her and her daughters. She added that she still worries about how many strangers may have her address and believe the false claims made in the fake profile.
