Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, has suffered a heartbreaking family tragedy following the death of two of his children in a fatal road accident along the Bauchi–Azare Highway.
The victims, identified as Mustapha and Ummi, were reportedly travelling back to Bauchi from Azare on Saturday when the vehicle they were in was involved in a devastating crash. Both siblings were pronounced dead after sustaining fatal injuries, while other occupants of the vehicle reportedly survived with injuries and are receiving medical treatment.
The incident has drawn widespread sympathy across Bauchi State, with Governor Bala Mohammed expressing deep sorrow over the loss. In a condolence message, the governor described the accident as a painful tragedy and extended heartfelt sympathies to Senator Baba Tela and his family. According to reports, funeral prayers (Janaza) for the deceased siblings were scheduled to take place at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi on Sunday.
