Kwara State Police Command don confirm say two police officers don die and kidnappers don carry two people — one Chinese man and one Nigerian — after dem attack one mining site for Oreke-Okeigbo, Ifelodun Local Government Area for Kwara State.
Di attack happen around 6:30 evening on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Na group of unknown gunmen storm the mining site, shoot two police officers wey dey work with 45 Police Mobile Force from Abuja — Assistant Superintendent of Police Haruna Watsai and Inspector Tukur Ogah. Dem even carry the officers’ rifles run.
For one statement wey Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi sign on behalf of Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, the command call the attack “wicked” and talk say dem go chase the people wey do am without rest.
Di statement talk say, “Apart from say dem k!ll our men, dem still kidnap two people — Mr. Sam Xie Wie, one Chinese national, and Mr. David Adenaiye, one Nigerian from Kogi State — wey dey work for the site when the attack happen.”
Commissioner Ojo condemn the bad thing wey happen and assure say the police don start tactical and intelligence work to rescue the people wey dem kidnap and catch the bad people. He still talk say the police dey work with other security people and community leaders to protect the area and stop another attack from happen.
“The command dey fully serious to protect lives and property for the whole state,” the police spokesperson yarn. “We beg the people make dem calm down, obey law, and give better information wey go help our investigation and rescue mission.”
