According to international media reports, the suspect is currently on trial in Saudi Arabia for his alleged involvement in a knife attack that occurred in the holy city of Mecca in 2024. Saudi authorities accuse him of carrying out a violent assault that left several people injured, including a security officer. If convicted, he could face the death penalty under Saudi law.

The case has attracted global attention due to its connection to the failed terror plot that led to the cancellation of Swift’s concerts in Vienna in 2024.
